4.3.1 CONNECT:Direct Stuck Process Check
4.3.2 CONNECT:Direct Audit Log Scan
4.3.3 Gentran Stuck Document Check
4.3.4 Gentran Queue Length Check
The CONNECT:Direct Stuck Process Check will examine the Process (TCQ) queue of CONNECT:Direct searching for documents that have not been processed in a timely manner. You may instruct eLerter that you wish to know about processes that have not been processed x minutes passed the scheduled process start time.
To enable the CONNECT:Direct Stuck Process Check, use the right mouse key to select CONNECT:Direct Stuck Process Check in the left hand pane of the configuration manager. This action will enable you to click on the Change Next Run Time option see Figure 4.3.1.1. For assistance on changing the next run time or changing properties, click here.

Figure 4.3.1.2 CONNECT:Direct Stuck Process Check Properties |
This dialog box provides CONNECT:Direct information and the ability to modify parameters. The table below describes the contents:
Property | Description |
| Last run time |
Time of most recent action |
| Time taken for last run |
How long it took the system to run the process (recorded in seconds) |
| Next Run Time |
The time the next action will begin |
| Run period |
How regularly the process will occur. Eg. 15 would indicate the process will run every 15 minutes |
| Continuous Breaches |
The number times this CONNECT:Direct check has failed consecutively |
| Total Breaches |
The total number of failures for this CONNECT:Direct Check |
| Run After Breach |
Specifies the IntelliStart command to run on failure of the CONNECT:Direct Check |
| Local Node |
The CONNECT:Direct node on which to run this check |
| Age Limit |
The maximum acceptable time threshold (in hours) post the scheduled process start time. Example: If a process was scheduled to start at 08.00 and the Age limit was set at 2 hours. If at 10.01 the process did not start, an error will be raised by eLerter |
Table 4.3.1.1 CONNECT:Direct Stuck Process Check Properties |
The CONNECT:Direct Audit Log Scan scans the CONNECT:Direct STAT table for entries that:
- Possess a Record ID (RecId) as specified by the CONNECT:Direct user; and
- Possess a condition code greater then or equal to a value as specified by the user.
CONNECT:Direct currently allows the user to enter a comma separated list of RecIds, ensuring that these records are logged in the NT Event Log, no matter what the condition code. There are advantages in using the eLerter scan as opposed to the native CONNECT:Direct scan. These are as follows:
- It will not impact on the performance of CONNECT:Direct;
- It will not fill the NT Event Log with unnecessary entries;
- CONNECT:Direct does not need to be stopped and started each time the RecId list is changed; and
- Support staff do not have to memorise the RecIds of the codes required.
For a list of CONNECT:Direct RecIds, please refer to Appendix A.
To enable the CONNECT:Direct Audit Log Scan, use the right mouse key to select CONNECT:Direct Audit Log Scan in the left hand pane of the configuration manager. This action will enable you to click on the Change Next Run Time option see Figure 4.3.2.1. For assistance on changing the next run time or changing properties, click here.

This check finds Gentran Documents that are left in the In or Out Documents area and Interchanges in the Interchange Queue that have a Sent Time set to blank and that were created more then x minutes ago. Entries will be written in the NT Event Log as:
- Warning if they are older then minutes old; and
- Error if they are older then minutes old.

There are a number of document and interchange queues in the Gentran software. For Documents these queues are:
- In Drawer
- Out Drawer
- In Documents
- In ?
- Out Documents
- Out ?
- Workspace
- Queued
For Interchanges these queues are:
- Received
- Sent
- Ready to Send
- Queued
- Hold
- Overdue
A backlog of documents in these Gentran queues may simply indicate a temporary build-up of documents or it may indicate a potential problem. The eLerter Gentran Queue Length check allows you to be notified when there are more then x documents or interchanges in a queue.
To enable the Gentran Queue Length Check, use the right mouse key to select Gentran Queue Length Check in the left hand pane of the configuration manager. This action will enable you to click on the Change Next Run Time option see Figure 4.3.4.1. For assistance on changing the next run time or changing properties, click here.
